Our Camping Trip

Hello world!!! We our back from our annual camping trip. 9 days with 5 kids and some rain but we survived. It was really nice to get away for a bit and not have to worry about the house and bills and everyday life. Our 2 nephews came with us, which keeps our older one busy since he has 2 little sisters.

Camping is our favorite little get away. It's fairly cheap and everyone has a great time. We went to the beach, where I got burnt like always. We had a scavenger hunt that was so much fun I recommend every family to do one at least once in your life lol. I made a list for everyone and gave them all bags. We all just went through the camp ground and woods looking for things like flowers, acorns, pinecones, something yellow,a feather and more. I loved seeing what everyone found.

During the last weekend we celebrated our youngest 9th birthday. The whole family came up and we went to the beach and cooked on the girl and has cake and drinks by the fire. She got a camper and a jeep for her American Girl Doll so that was the high light of her trip.

It was a great trip and hopefully before the summer ends we can go back for at least a weekend. Ughhh now I'm still doing laundry and putting away all this camping crap. Feels like we took half the house with us!!

Hope everyone is having a great summer!!!

My oldest turns 14

Wow where does the years go?? 14 years ago I gave birth to my first child, Devin Louis. This kid has grown up do darn face it seriously makes my head spin. His last visit a few months back to the pedestrians office confirmed him being 5'8 and 150 pounds. Oh my not a baby anymore that's for damn sure. That makes him 8 inches taller than me and I'm pretty sure he may have grown an inch since then.
I remember bring him home for the first time. This tiny little bundle of joy on a hot Summers day. We lived in this tiny little apartment on the 3rd floor learning to be parents for the first time. He had blonde hair and blue eyes looking like a mini version of my husband. Then he grow into the funniest wildest little boy. So much energy came from this cute little guy. I remember him banging his head crying at my mom's house cause I had to leave him and go to work. I would cry driving to work wishing I could just turn around and scoop him back up. He's daddy would parade him around cars shows with his friends and we would go swimming and take him camping during the summer.
Watching little boys grow up is a ton of fun but I was meant to only have one!! We had 2 little girls after our rough tough messy little boy. He ran around the yard with sticks and searched for worms in the yard. He played rough and got extremely dirty all time. Back then he thought he was a power ranger and an army guy all in one. Kept me on my toes from morning till night. I had to climb in his car bed and read him like 7 books before he fell asleep for the night.
By the time he was 7 we bought our very own house with a huge backyard and a new puppy to to entertain all that boy energy he held. He grew so fast and became a great student and and amazing track star. Devin will be going to 8th grade this year, his last year in the middle school. His hair has become darker and curler and his eyes changed to a beautiful green. His big dimple remains the same. He's a great big brother to his younger sisters and loves animals, video games and the solar system!!
Happy Birthday to the not little boy anymore.

DIY Jack Daniel's Lamp

Good Morning World.

So for Christmas I made Hubby a lamp. I saw on Pintertest how you can cut glass bottles in half. Pretty cool right? Well It took me 3 tries and I almost lost an eye. Yup I'd say pretty dangerous. You have to also set it on fire so that really ups the danger. I just wanted to make something fun and unique. So I knew I wanted to make something with a Jack Daniel's bottle but wasn't sure till I was throwing out an old lamp of the girls. I noticed the cord was just tied onto this cheap lamp so I took it apart and knew I had to make a lamp. All the supplies were on hand that I found around the house, so I guess we can say it was a free project.
We've been collecting bottle tops for a table we want to cover some day. I took some of those to rim the lamp shade. To cut the bottle you wrap a string or yarn around it nice and tight. Trim the excess off. Pul the string off and soak in rubbing alcohol and then place the string back to where you want to break the glass. Light it on fire and spin the bottle for about a minute then quickly while still on fire place it in a bucket of ice water. It's a scary process and it didn't work at first. This time it did but I had to pull it apart. It didn't just break off in the water like videos I saw. It broke a small piece off which worked in my favor, cause I needed a spot for the wire. I would have preferred it to be in back but oh well it was my first time playing with glass and fire so I'm happy. Maybe this didn't come out as pretty as I would have like but I'm still proud of the home made lamp I made for Hubby and makes for good conversation.
Well I hope you like my project. I'm completely obsessed with Pinterest and all the fun ideas you can get from that site. It's by far my favorite site to visit. I'm not that computer savvy and don't really know how people link all their stuff up on there but I'm hoping to learn. My pinterest is LisaLuvs MAC

Back to School 2014

Well the kiddos are back to school. That means I'm back to my regular job at the high school.
This has to the the fastest summer ever. It just flew by so darn fast. I want Summer back. I don't know if it's because I took a summer job or what???? I never got my summer tan I wanted and I barely used my pool. Butttt I do love Fall. It's my favorite season besides Summmer. I just love the Fall colors and I absolutely love Pumpkins and Sunflowers!!!! In my next post I will share my Autumn Decor!!
Ok so here are the kids back to school!! Kaleigh and Briella are in 3rd grade and Devin is in 7th... OMG yes 7th grade. I remember when he was in preschool with his baby blanket and doggie in his back pack. Where the he'll has the time gone??? I'm starting to feel old over here. He's so big we bought him a size 11.5 sneakers. Yup that's right my kids gonna be a freaking giant while I'm over here shrinking into a midget!! LoL.
The girls are so adorable this year. Briella is really into clothes and dressing up. She's my little fashonista!! Kaleigh loves pretty clothes too but she's more all about enjoying each moment of life. That are just too cute!

Stuffed Pepper

I haven't had stuffed peppers in so long! I was craving something with sauce but didn't want any pasta so yum I made them!!

Stuffed Peppers are one of those meals that seem kinda hard but it's do easy to make and always comes out so great!!

What you'll need
I used 5 green peppers
1 pound of ground turkey, I also like to use Boca meat a lot
1 jar of sauce
1 package of brown rice
3 cloves of garlic
1 onion
Italian Seasoning
Italian style shredded cheese
Salt & Pepper
A few sprinkles of Parmesan Cheese
Brown up meat and add in chopped onion and garlic! Add seasonings & parm cheese! Cook till down. Cook rice to directions & them mix that into your meat! Add a your sauce but leave some out to coat the bottom of baking pan and some to top off peppers.

Cut tips off of Peppers and take out the insides of them. Put the meat mixture in and top with sauce. I didn't sprinkle the cheese on till the last 10 minutes. They cooked at 350 F for about 1 hour, it depends on how soft you like your peppers to be! I like mine soft.

I served it with Naan bread! It's like a flat bread with garlic. I put a few TBSP of Pesto sauce on it and topped it the with the shredded cheese. Bake it for about 10 to 15 minutes till crispy. It's so good!! During the summer this bread is amazing on the grill! You can add sautéed zucchini or whatever you like!!

Thanks so much for checking out my blog!! Have a wonderful day!!!

Leftover Turkey
Hellmans Mayo
Adobe Seasoning ( I like using this cause its got pepper & a pinch of garlic in it)
Onion

I put the turkey and onion in my Ninja to chop up small! Mix rest if ingredients together and done!!

Also you could add shredded carrots, parsley, black olives, peppers!!

I packed it in Hubby's lunch with a Chef Salad and some homemade Garlic Beer Bread!!

Have a Fabulous week!!!!

First Day of School

SO the kids went back to school yesterday!! My oldest is in 4th grade, such a big boy now! The girls are in Kindergarten so that is super fun!! Briella did really well and really loves school so much! Kaleigh had a tougher time. She's in all day Kindergarten so the day was pretty long for her and she said she cried all day for me. But she was so excited to go to school today so that's a relief. I'll be added pix of their first day later! This is the first time in 10 years that I have no kids for a few hours. It's pretty weird just me and the doggies LOL. So as soon as I'm done with my breakfast right here I'm gonna go clean like crazy and see how much I can get done before Briella gets off the bus in 3 hours. I'd really like to get a shower in there too :) We'll see. When Briella gets off the bus we'll have lunch and then off to Lowe's. Hubby & I want to repaint the house and add stripes to a big wall. So I want to go get some more paint swatches. Happy Back to School Time everyone!! xoxo LisaMarie
