Red hair gone wrong

Well I just don't know how to leave well enough alone. I love changing my hair color a few times a year. I try to just change it in fall to a darker shade and then go back to blonde mid winter. But why??? Why do I do this to myself.

Let's give you a quick hair story first. I like to dye the crap out of my poor hair. Well I love being blonde I do tend to get bored time to time. Last fall I dyed it a reddish brown and it faded a week later to the point my ends were blonde. From there I went back to blonde and have kept it there, we'll for except for a dark golden blonde gone wrong during Christmas break, but we won't go there. I also had to cut a lot of my hair off last winter and still haven't seen my of that grow back.

Well Fall came around this year and I just live looking at red heads. Ughhh I wanted a beautiful Aurburn brown color. I figured I'd dye it once and then leave it. Let it fade till Spring and then do high lights or go all blonde again. But no no no that never goes as planned for me!!!!!!

I was determined to look like Jaclyn Hill (look her up on YouTube). The perfect red. Well my first attempt was more like Ronald McDonald! !! Then the next day I just couldn't live with it. I used the same Cinnaberry dye by Clariol and Mixed in a capful of medium golden brown. This time it was a bit darker but still a bit Ron looking. I admit I kinda liked it till a week later it faded once again. The only thing saving me is I left the front blonde. Since I wear my hair up everyday for work it wasn't much of a problem!!

Ok so I like to coupon, ok I love to coupon!! I've been collecting red dyes!! Bad idea for someone like me. Just a bit over a week ago I decide to try this red once again. This time I used a permanent dye. It was loreal feria Aurburn Brown.  I did the blonde as well as the old red. It came out just like the box and I was in love. Everyone at work loves it too.

I wouldn't admit to myself just yet but not sure it's the right red for my skin tone. I felt like even my makeup looked bad on me. So I tried to fade this crap but all a sudden it won't wash out. Go figure this shit. When you don't want your color to fade it washes out with every shampoo. This time it was fading out first but now that I have been trying to use baking soda and clarifying shampoo it doesn't fade :( it's darker at my roots and fades out to me ends. I even gave myself a much dreaded trim. I have no clue what I'm gonna do with this color just yet?????

For now I think I will try to deal with it and see if it fades by Christmas. Ok before Christmas. Then maybe try to go back to blonde. I'm still obsessed with red hair. It's so pretty and looks great on so many girls. Ughhh just not sure it looks good on me?? So here's another sad hsir story for me. I'm never going to get my hair long again doing this to my hair.

So I will leave you with some picture of what my hair looks like. I still have about 5 boxes of red in my stockpile! ! LoL maybe I should exchange them for a different color??? I will just never learn to leave my poor helpless hair alone.

Well this will be continued till my next dye job!!!!
Red the color that fades super fast yet also the hardest color to get out of your hair. Don't you love that!! My vision of gorgeous red hair I think has been crushed after dying it 3 times in one month and still not happy with it.

Fall Porch Decor

Well Fall is here. Well I think we still have a few days. But here in CT it has been getting chilly and the leaves are changing colors. We've been wearing hoodies at the bus stop and drinking more coffee. Fall and Halloween are my Favorite time to decorate.

Even Hubby got into it this year and went and got me some things for the porch. We picked Pumpkins out of our garden and got to work. I'm pretty pleased with how pretty the porch turned out. It's so Fall and so cozy.

Now time to relax and enjoy the view with some Pumpkin coffee or well if you are like me it's the best time for some pumpkin beer with my love :)

Happy Fall Y'all

Back to School 2014

Well the kiddos are back to school. That means I'm back to my regular job at the high school.
This has to the the fastest summer ever. It just flew by so darn fast. I want Summer back. I don't know if it's because I took a summer job or what???? I never got my summer tan I wanted and I barely used my pool. Butttt I do love Fall. It's my favorite season besides Summmer. I just love the Fall colors and I absolutely love Pumpkins and Sunflowers!!!! In my next post I will share my Autumn Decor!!
Ok so here are the kids back to school!! Kaleigh and Briella are in 3rd grade and Devin is in 7th... OMG yes 7th grade. I remember when he was in preschool with his baby blanket and doggie in his back pack. Where the he'll has the time gone??? I'm starting to feel old over here. He's so big we bought him a size 11.5 sneakers. Yup that's right my kids gonna be a freaking giant while I'm over here shrinking into a midget!! LoL.
The girls are so adorable this year. Briella is really into clothes and dressing up. She's my little fashonista!! Kaleigh loves pretty clothes too but she's more all about enjoying each moment of life. That are just too cute!

New Fall Hair Color

Well Fall is on its way. Since the end of last winter I said I wanted a red color for Fall. Well I did it. I really love it too. I have noticed it fading already bit it's still a fun color. I used Clairol Cinnaberry, it's a wash out dye. I have used this color since high school. Though I am pretty sure they changed the formula. It never came out this red before. Although I do like this color it's fading fast and I would like i to be a little more brown. With couponing I have collected 5 dyes the past week. I grabbed a brown and the rest are aurburn colors. I will play around with them this Fall and Winter. Also I think I will leave the blonde in the front till I get sick of it, but I'm pretty sure it will stay like that for awhile. It's hard for me to get rid of all my blonde. I Love reddish browns me cause they warm me up and make my eyes stand out.
Happy Fall Y'all !!!

Thanks for checking my blog out. Have a Fabulous Day!! xoox

Summer 2014

Summer Summertime! !
Summer has been flying by so fast this year. I can not believe we have enter August already. Just crazy I tell ya.
We haven't done a whole lot this summer. I took on a summer job giving free meals to children. It's rewarding and I like the hours and the girls I work with.
So far we have gobe camping twice, once for a weekend and once for 8 days. One beach trip and a lot of pool time and hanging out in the yard and gardening. Hopefully we can get back to camp one more time before School starts. The kids and I go back on the 27th. Time has gone by fast. Wish winter would go by this fast but far chance there!!!
Just wanted to share some pictures of our summertime!!
Hope everyone is enjoying their summer. So far I have read two books by my favorite author Elin Hilderbrand, Summerland and the Match maker. Love her books I read them every summer. Every one at work has talked me into ready 50 shades of grey so that's next on my list.
Well have a fabulous day!! Get some sun.

Day 2 no meat challenge

Day 2

So I actually had some breakfast today. Figured I better get some cereal before the kids eat it all on me. They eat cereal all day long. I like my cereal with coconut milk or almond milk. Let's not forget my 3 cups of black coffee (Starbucks that is) with cinnamon.

For lunch I had mac and cheese with spinach and kale. Let's not forget the garlic!! Yum. It was actually a knows pasta side that I spiced up. I used coconut milk instead of real milk, and you'd never know!! Oh and I added some white sharp cheddar cheese. Something quick and easy while cleaning the house and dealing with a never ending laundry basket.

For dinner I had a cheese quesadilla and a salad with some buffalo ranch. I know I know probably a bad choose on that fat ass dressing. But oh well I'm trying here!

Hubby has been good too eating my all veggie meals. Though I have been packing him lunch meat sandwiches. But I know he will never fully give up meat.

So far no meat craving. But like I've said before I've done this plenty of times and I'm not much of a meat eater.

Oh and here's an extra picture, it's my girls being all cute enjoying summer.

Day 1 of 30 days no meat

Day 1

So today for lunch I had a mashed chick pea sandwich on multi grain bread with kale. Oh so good. With this you won't even remember tuna!! I love tuna on my salad at work, which I eat almost everyday. Chickpeas give the protein and are so delish.

I got this recipe from the simple veganista. Sorry I don't know how to post links yet on my phone. She has a blog and an Instagram under This name.

I used my ninja to mash everything. I even put a punch of fresh ginger in it. I have to say the pumpkin seeds on this recipe is oh so amazing.  I used carrots and some lime juice as well as extra virgin olive oil. Season with paprika, salt and pepper and a pinch of garlic powder.

I work at a school in the cafe so I never eat real breakfast. We eat are lunch around 10:30 before we get ready to feed the kids. So I didn't take a pic of my "breakfast" it was lettuce, tomatoes and cheese on a whole wheat roll and melon on the side.

For dinner made grilled veggies on naan bread. Most veggies came from my garden.

Following veggies i sautéed
Eggplant
Cherry tomatoes
Jalapeño
Rushed garlic
Peppers
Red cabbage
Mushrooms
Onion

I used fresh basil too. I sautéed them in coconut oil with a packet of sazon.

I put the naan bread in the broiler to toast then put shredded cheese on it. Melted it in the oven and put the veggies on top. Came out amazing and Hubby loved it!!!

I know this challenge for me will be easy cause I don't really like me but for my family it's very hard. I'm sure I'll be cooking up some meat for them some days and cooking separate for me. Which in the past is what made me give up before.

Hope you have a wonderful day! !

30 day Veggie Challenge

Hello blogging world, I've decided to do this challenge so I can get back into eating healthy again. I'm a good Eater and don't eat much meat at all but during this summer I have been eating horrible. Drinking lots of beer and snacking on fattening delicious stuff.

Well eating and drinking like my husband has lead to and 8 pound weight gain and a flabby stomach. Which Hubby doesn't seem to mind but I already wanted to lose a few pounds before this and tone up my mommy flab. It's hard taking care of yourself sometimes when you are working and taking care of others. I've been really tired after work and feel sluggish the rest of the day. So what better time then now to try and turn things around.

I have gone Vegetarian many many times and even was Vegan for 2 years. So this time I'm trying my hardest to stick with it. I thought maybe if I post my daily meals here it will keep me motivated to keep going.

So here's my first entry. Kale chips straight from my garden. The kids went nuts over these I had to make 3 batches.

Very simple to make. Just wash kale and break up in smaller pieces. Place on cookie sheet and drizzle some olive oil and season with garlic, salt and pepper. Back in oven 350 for about 15 minutes till crispy.
